Kelly & Ted’s Wedding, Part 1 – Getting Ready! {Houston Wedding Photography}

I still remember the first time I heard from Kelly. I was in Mexico for Jose Villa’s workshop, and I had read her email on my iPhone. Something about her message just touched me. I knew. I knew I wanted to get to know her & Ted better. Plus I squealed when I read that her ceremony was at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Growing up in Illinois, I have a special fondness for older Catholic churches, and Holy Rosary is among the best in Houston for the architecture!

Kelly & I exchanged emails, and then when we talked on the phone, it just clicked. She made me laugh. I knew that they were just a super special couple. We had so much fun at their engagement session last summer at CoffeeGroundz and in the area surrounding it. I knew then that their wedding day would be filled with laughter and joy! I was right – you could just feel how much their families love them. How much they all love each other. How hysterically funny they all are. I just could go on and on about them all! Kelly was so relaxed the whole time – everyone had such a blast!

Elaine had to miss out on their wedding thanks to her scooter accident the month before, so Marc came along to work with me. I love working with him! (But we missed Elaine!)

We started off at the hair salon, and then went to Kelly’s parent’s house for the women to get ready. There was lots of hairspray & makeup. Oh, and false eyelashes. I learned that day just how important false eyelashes are – they make every woman gorgeous!

(Don’t forget to check out the second part of the day, their ceremony at Holy Rosary!)

Ted had arranged to have a special gift delivered to Kelly – a very special, sparkly gift!

Kelly’s sister was upstairs getting ready while Kelly was downstairs getting dressed. This is possibly the BEST reaction EVER — Kelly’s sister could not believe just how incredible she looked!

Then her Dad got to see her for the first time in her wedding dress. So sweet!

Then we were off to Holy Rosary! I found Ted’s father waiting inside the church. (Yes, that light made me swoon a little bit.)

Marc was with the guys while I was with the women.

Next up, part 2 – the Ceremony! You can see Kelly’s review of our work on Wedding Wire as well!

I really dig the ring shot and the photo of the dad looking at his daughter was very moving… I often think about my daughters wedding. I know she’s only 2, but still. Thanks for sharing. Rock on!

The bride is beautiful and I love some of the live action shots as they’re preparing… great photos!

Christine, Your work is stunning. You capture each moment so well. Kelly looks so beautiful in every picture. xoxo

Kelly! Some of my favorite are the getting ready pictures! You see how relaxed you really were the whole day! And my favorite is when Marisa finally sees you, and the look on Mason’s face is perfect! Love you!!

Christine made Kelly’s wedding perfect. Her photography technique was very artistic. For example , I liked the picture she took of Kelly’s wedding dress against a background picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Those are the memories we will take with us forever. Christine is a great human being too!!!

I love the pic of ME seeing my baby sister for the first time in her wedding dress! Thank you for making this day an absolute dream come true. You are a legend.

I LOVE the Groom sitting with the boy, and the church is amazing! Love the photos. Amazing as always Christine!

What a pleasure it was to view Ted and Kelly’s wedding. I have to say this is the nicest photographer I have ever seen. She was able to capture every special moment of their wedding day. Absoulutley wonderful!!!!!

The pictures came out beautiful, I love all of them. Such great memories that will last a life time!

Kelly-these pics are absolutely beautiful. Love the pic with you and your parents. Very nice. And love this church.

The pics are awesome. You both look great. So glad we were there to share the special day with you both.

Gorgeous photos. Kelly is such a beautiful diva and you captured so much personality in each photo. What an awesome keepsake they’ll treasure for years to come.

Christine, it was these photos of the marriage of my niece to her Teddy that made me realize that YOU knew how to “tell the story”. You capture more than a picture, you capture the memory. A memory that Ted and Kel will be able to pass on to their children. They say the best compliment is emulating – it was because of these amazing photos of my niece that I wanted “You” to tell my daughter’s story so she too could one day share with her children, and you did just that this past 31st of December. You are extremely talented and very protective of your brides, I like this very much as you make the bride feel comfortable – you fit right in – didn’t we adopt you after the wedding? You are now part of our “familia”. By the way – I do not have a favorite pic in this album as all of them were simply “perfect”.

Kelly – you look GORGEOUS! and I love the photojournalism…I can just see the stopry of the day. WONDERFUL.

Christine is an artist. Pictures are wonderful, i think i was more nervous than you were! Happy 4 months!
