Kelly first contacted me last year while I was in Mexico for Jose Villa’s workshop. Ahhh, the Hacienda. It was a magical night at the end of a fabulous day, and in few minutes of downtime I decided to check my email – and there was an inquiry from her asking if I was available for their wedding date in October. She went on to say that she & Ted are getting married at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, and I may have squealed a little bit. I think it just might be my favorite church in all of Houston. Icing on the cake? The reception is at the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, one of our other favorite venues. Something told me I simply had to meet with them – and if you know me, you know that I always trust The Vibe.
Needless to say, I wrote her back immediately. We exchanged emails, but with the holidays and work, their schedule was full and we didn’t get to meet up. I really wanted to work with Kelly & Ted. I just knew it. So I decided to write her again to check in — and I’m so glad I did! By the end of the day everything was all set up. We saved meeting in person for their engagement session!
Summer in Houston is hot, hot, hot so we decided to shoot as early in the day as possible. We really did not want to melt! Kelly & Ted were so excellent about it all, and we worked fast and took frequent breaks at one of my favorite spots in Houston, CoffeeGroundz! JR was so great, even letting us carry furniture outside into the drive thru and letting us shoot inside the shop as well. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to stop by! You won’t regret it!
A quick change, and we went out walking around again in the area. My favorite photo sessions are often photo hunts – where we just go and find cool spots to take photos. This was one of those days – I was immediately drawn to the yellow building down the street, so we went there next.
Then it was on to new places & things to see.
Eventually we made our way back to CoffeeGroundz.
Thank you again to both Kelly & Ted, and I can not *WAIT* for your wedding in October! You are both such great people – I’m so glad you found each other — and then found me!!!

I love the last one. It cracks me up. Adorable couple.
I love her second outfit (with the blue skirt)! Too cute! And your photos, of course, are as lovely as usual.
The last image is pretty funny. Looks like the shoot went well. Keep up the good work!
