Dai Manuel is a digital thought leader and lifestyle mentor empowering people to lead a ‘FUN’ctionally fit life through education, encouragement and community. Dai models his work on the basis of 5 pillars: Fitness, Family, Finances, Faith with an overarching roof of ‘FUN’ built on a solid foundation of health.
Dai is also a dad, dating his wife, founding partner and former COO of Fitness Town Inc, keynote speaker, award-winning blogger, CrossFit athlete, co-founder of the #YVRDads support group for fathers, a BC Children’s Hospital Grind For Kids Ambassador, and published author of the Whole Life Fitness Manifesto book.
Now that we got the formal stuff out of the way, let me tell you about Dai. The man you see today? Know that he hasn’t always been fit. Matter of fact, he was obese as a child, back when childhood obesity wasn’t the epidemic that it is today. He was depressed and had suicidal thoughts. At 14, he made a decision to overcome it, and he has devoted his life in one form or another to helping others do the same.
Dai works to help people change their lives with his Whole Life Fitness Manifesto – you can join now too for the next 28-day Power 30 Program! It’s time to invest 2% of your day in yourself and adopt the #JustDidIt attitude.
His family is currently living a life in transition – along with his wife and their two daughters, along with their dog, they have taken off on the road in an SUV, getting rid of their home in Vancouver, BC. Dai shared about this experience of traveling and working on the road with us on this episode as well.
The things that are so important in our right now are never our regrets later. No one, at the end of their life, wish that they had worked harder and made enough to buy a mansion. They wish that they had spent more time with their loved ones, doing the things that they loved.
Following your dreams requires that those closest to you are supportive, and you have to learn to shut out the negative feedback of the naysayers.
Dai also shared with us the perspective of being the COO of a company and now being an army of two with his wife running his business. There is a lot that we can learn from his wisdom!
