I’ve been struggling with defining who I am this year. I’ve had some turns in my life that I wasn’t anticipating and it’s challenged me to stop being a follower and start figuring out who I am. It sounds silly. I’m 32 and don’t know what my favorite food is, let alone what clientele I wish to attract. Though I wasn’t very active in the group about intros and such, I felt that sitting down and doing the BFF assignment and working on my manifesto did more for me than I ever anticipated it would. It pushed me to think about myself which I really haven’t done in over a decade. So, Christine, you’ve given me more in this course than I could ever ask for.
Another major concept that was huge for me was thinking of my blog as the center of my marketing as opposed to an auxiliary aspect. Everything I put out should start here, not on Facebook or instagram – it should start on my blog where I have full control and can parse out bits and pieces to social media as needed.
My expectations were more than met. I don’t know if I knew what to expect. I just knew something needed to change. I feel like I have a solid foundation to move forward and I have so much more to go! I’ve really enjoyed my excuses to scurry out of the house in Saturday mornings and sit at starbucks to work on the homework assignments. It’s definitely pushed me to think outside of what I’ve been reading over and over again and it’s empowered me to write how I think instead of what everyone else has been doing. I have to say, I was pretty nervous going in to this. I am not much of a “girly-girl” and started without a real vision of what direction I wanted to go in.
