I just shared a few photos from this fabulously boudoir session at the studio in the Heights that I had with Mrs. C over on Boudoir Mon Cheri, and I wanted to share a few here as well! She is one of my gorgeous mom clients who did a boudoir session as a gift for her husband, and we had such a great time!

She took her time with the pictures and when I got the proofs I was blown away!! Last year one of our recent brides, Patricia, attended the show with us and it was so awesome having her there because she could speak firsthand to couples about what it was like to work with us. We decided to do it again this year, and invited Katherine, who agreed to join us as soon as I asked her – on her wedding day! She is just so full of great energy, and we loved working together! Their wedding will be up on the blog next – I can’t wait to share it with you!

We decided to try something new for our promo cards to pass out this year, and I have to say – I LOVE how they turned out! Even better then they were in my original vision. We did a whole series of them from several different 2009 weddings, plus a boudoir session, and I think we’ve hit on a theme that we’ll be continuing over time! What do you think?

Oh, they just make me so giddy — I love how they tie in with the postcard up there on the banner of the blog. I’ve collected postcards since I was about 10 years old, and I always make sure to buy one to add to the collection wherever I go, so it is such a perfect extension of me. Elaine on the other hand collects floaty pens — you know those pens with the thing that slides from one end to the other in the top half of the barrel? She has hundreds of them! They are so cool too! I’ll have to ask her to share some photos of them someday.

Along with the cards, we’re formally launching our hourly photography option! For 2009, we focused mainly on our Complete Wedding Collection, which is unlimited shooting time with me, a second photographer for 8 hours, an engagement session, and a DVD of the images, and couples selected what albums or other items they would like to add on to that. It has worked out to be absolutely amazing! But at the same time, we realized not everyone needs that — some people simply need less time. Some people, thanks to today’s economy, might have more modest plans for their wedding. We get that. We feel it. We hear you! We’ve always offered custom packages, but we’re sort of making it more formal by putting it right up front as an option. The new price information will be ready on Monday! We want to make working with us as easy as possible for you — it is how we roll! *grin*

In the past year of Boudoir sessions, I’ve discovered that some of my absolute favorite photos are the most simple, the most pure – ones that involve nothing more than a white sheet or towel. No outfits. Just beauty.

In honor of this, I’ve decided to add a White Sheet Session to my package lineup!

THE WHITE SHEET SESSION
1 hour photo shoot at the studio in the Heights. No outfits photographed – just a white sheet. (You are welcome to wear whatever you choose under the sheet! Recommended: something nude or natural, preferably strapless.)
Your choice of one of the following:
20 page coffee table book, 8×10 or 10×10 in size, in our artistic layout of one image per page to showcase your beauty, with a leather cover; OR
DVD of all proofs from your session with a print release.** (Note: no special retouching will be done to the images.)
Options available to upgrade your album to the top of the line albums that we offer, to add more pages to your book, digital files of magazine retouched images or prints.
Special Price:
$400 for album -or- DVD with print release (normally $800)
$500 for album -and- DVD with print release (normally $1000)

Next Friday and Saturday, we’re having a Grand Opening for the studio at 1024 Studewood, in conjunction with Heights First Saturday! (I’m always at a loss for what to call it, since we’re not really just opening the studio, but rather celebrating the expansion of the space!) On Friday, March 6th from 11am-8pm and on Saturday, March 7, from 10am – 4pm, stop by for refreshments, to check out the space, see our latest work and sample albums, and the brand new photos on the wall – including a 60×33.75 inch, 2.5″ deep gallery wrap canvas of the above image hanging over the brand new sofas. It is going to be *gorgeous*! I am so excited – I can’t wait for it to arrive!!!

Everyone who stops by can pick up a gift certificate good for a complimentary mini session! A 30 minute session at the studio or in the Heights (valued at $75) – perfect for couples that just want a photo or two for their engagement session or bridal portrait, a mini boudoir session, a maternity portrait, a family photograph, newborn photography, a mini senior portrait session – you name it! We’ll also have a list of dates and times available for the sessions, so you can get on the calendar on the spot if you’re interested. If you would like to upgrade the mini session to a full session, you can for a special price! Just ask!

I will also be releasing the latest pricelist at the beginning of next week; we review and revise them every 3-4 months. After extensive discussions with our clients and prospective clients, I have decided to expand my a la carte´pricing in it, including the option to book us on an hourly basis. I will also be offering the option to hire only me instead of two photographers for weddings with 150 guests or less, or to have two photographer coverage for part of the day, and single photographer coverage for the rest of it. I really want everything to be flexible to fit your needs!

AFTER PARTY! — After the Grand Opening at the studio, head on over to Taft St. Coffee to see Elaine’s photo exhibit on display there! The reception for her exhibit is also on March 7th, from 5-8pm. She will be showing off (and selling) her Through the Viewfinder (TTV) prints, which would normally be hanging at the studio but aren’t going to be next weekend. They are really cool! You won’t want to miss the show! 2115 Taft St. – very easy to get to from the studio!
