Gearing Up!

Wow. Time just seems to fly lately - I can’t believe it is the middle of January already! Whoooosh!
I’m finally at a point where I feel all caught up from my surgery, at least behind the scenes. Now it is time for the “public” side of things to get caught up! I’m a huge believer in transparency, so I want to share with you what things are ahead!
1. Moving the blog to the root of the site. Right now, when you visit ChristineTremoulet.com, you land at a splash page. Personally? I hate splash pages. When I’m surfing the web, I want to get right to the information. On top of that, the Flash portion of the site is not search engine friendly, or good for people who have accessibility needs. The geek in me knows all of this, and it has bothered me for months. Back in October, I decided I should move the blog up front. Then life got in the way. So it is the first thing that is going to happen - maybe even tonight!
If you have feedback on this, I truly welcome it! I held off in doing it at first because I was concerned that some might feel that viewing the blog first is not as professional. I will be changing the layout of the blog some, making it user friendly and easy to navigate to sub-sections of the site. After looking at how visitors use the site, I think it is really the best option, and will make for the best experience for everyone that visits!
(UPDATE: The move is done! Let me know if anything is acting weird for you.)
2. Now that I’m all caught up on proofing and everyone has their proofs (with the exception of Sarah & Adrian’s wedding - that one is still in the works), I’ll be posting my favorites from November & December, along with slideshows, in order of events.

3. The new billing system is going into place at the same time! I’ll be using ShootQ from now on, with all of its fabulous features. There will be a learning curve, I am sure, so I may be using manual invoices meanwhile. This is mainly worth noting here as I send out requests for you to update your contact information in ShootQ and so you know about it when the first invoices go out.
4. Next up, a revamping of the portfolio. It is great to show things off in the blog - and since it always has the most recent work that is why I am moving the blog to the root of the site - but the portfolio itself needs to be freshened up.
5. Right along with refreshing the online portfolio, it is time to get more sample albums and refresh the print portfolio too!
My goal is to have all of this done by the end of the week. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I’ve got a line of photos waiting to be posted here, but before I do any of that I want to make sure that everyone who was so kind & patient while I dealt with emergency surgery last month has everything that they need before Christmas arrives. Back Online

For a few weeks now, I’ve had a fairly minor outpatient surgery scheduled for November 14th. Only problem was, I was getting far worse while waiting on the surgery date, to the point that on the 12th I received a phone call from my doctor’s office that I was too anemic (with a hemoglobin level of 7.7 the previous Friday) to have surgery. On the 13th, while my husband drove me to my cardiologist’s office for what would have been my pre-op clearance appointment, I passed out in the car. This set off a whole series of events, leading to me being admitted to the hospital for blood transfusions, and a much more major surgery on the 16th.
It was a whirlwind week, and to be honest I don’t even remember half of it.
I’m home now, and life will slowly be returning to normal. I had only done minimal editing before going into the hospital from the weddings we had just shot, so I will be keeping myself occupied with those over the next few days and should have previews online soon! I think I am all caught up on emails, but if I missed something please let me know!
ShootQ Party Time!

Packing up to head out of town for the ShootQ set up party in Austin tomorrow! I’m so excited about what ShootQ has to offer my clients, at least from what I saw of the demo of it back at the Elevate workshop in June.

Oh goodness, I just realized that between launching the website and then going on vacation, I still have a ton of other images to add to the galleries! Sort of like the shoemaker’s children never having shoes, I haven’t had time to edit my own personal photos it seems. I’ll be adding lots of photos and even a slideshow or two over the next week or so - so check back for more goodies!
Right along with website additions, I’m making some other additions too - I will have new album samples coming in over the next few weeks, and I just received my first batch of metallic prints and they blew me away! Elaine & I are discussing adding them as an option on to the prints we offer at Fresh Photography too. They are just incredible!
Elaine & I have also been busy with shoots lately for BarStool magazine, and as soon as the September issue hits the streets, I’ll be posting images here too. So many good things to come!

Whoo hoo! With this, ChristineTremoulet.com is live! Sweet! The blog here will have a nicer “look & feel” within the near future to coordinate with the site, but I’m just so excited that it is LIVE!
